Profile of Graduate
 
 Mexico being between the two American subcontinents gives it an enormous strategic importance for maritime transportation. It is imperative that Mexico develops its capacities in this economic activity and for this requires specialized personnel, as much in the management of ports and maritime transport as in the aspects of international commerce linked to these activities. Hence the decision of the Universidad del Mar to offer the degree of Maritime Science.
 The graduate of this degree will be a professional expert in world geography in general and Mexico in particular, and also of the economic and legal problems of international transportation to be set in the context of maritime transportation.
 The graduate will be in condition to manage the diverse aspects of a maritime transport company as well as the relative administration of ports; they will be a good administrator with the inherent abilities for the direction of a private or public company.
   
Course of Action
 
 The graduate in Maritime Sciences will assume the responsibility and will be ready to exercise their professionalism in a skillful and efficient way in the diverse areas which shape the maritime industry and ports in a national and international sphere such as: Office or Department leadership in Port authorities; General administration of Customs; Maritime Customs, airport authorities and frontiers; National system of Integrated Port Authorities Administration, - public and private; Port Authority Leadership in the organization of the country; Leadership of Marinas belonging to local government ; Legal companies of Mexican petroleum; National and transnational Shipping Agencies; System Assessor of National and International ports; National and International multi-mannered Custom Agencies, among others.
